The World’s Largest Closed Stockyard Is Put Into Operation
On November 25, the pellet ore closed stockyard project EPC contracted by TechSolutions was completed and put into operation in Jingtang steel plant.
It is understood that this closed stockyard is currently the largest closed stockyard in the world, with a single-span net span of 245 meters, a length of 650 meters, and a height of 63.228 meters. The double-span width of the iron ore stockyard is 377 meters, covering an area of 26.3 square meters, equivalent to the area of 38 standard football fields, with 4 raw ore stockpiles inside.
Due to the production and operation requirements of the steel plant, production shutdown is not allowed during construction and the space is limited. TechSolutions used the cumulative slip method combined with reverse slip technology for construction, which was very difficult. The construction period of this closed stockyard project is very tight. From the laying of the first pile on 2 April 2020, to the completion on 25 October 2020, the total construction period is 207 days. The construction progress has set a new record for similar projects.
