What is boom bucket wheel stacker reclaimer?

Boom bucket wheel stacker reclaimer is a kind of stacker reclaimer, which is characterized by reclaiming bulk materials through the bucket wheel mechanism fixed on the boom head, and has the functions of stacking and reclaiming bulk materials on the same machine. Boom bucket wheel stacker reclaimer is a large loading and unloading equipment for bulk materials with high efficiency and continuous operation, mainly used in coal and ore storage yards in power, mining, metal, coal, building materials, chemical and other industries, and has the features of high production efficiency, low energy consumption and environmental-friendly.

Function Description

Boom bucket wheel stacker reclaimer has two operation modes: stacking and reclaiming.

  • Stacking: Bulk materials piled by belt conveyor are discharged to the belt conveyor on the boom by the tripper car, and then stacked to the stockyard from the front end of the boom. Through the operation of the whole machine, the rotation and luffing of the boom can make the material pile form a neat shape with trapezoidal cross section.
  • Reclaiming: The material reclaiming is realized continuously through the slewing of the boom and the rotation of the bucket wheel. The bulk materials are discharged to the boom belt conveyor running in the reverse direction through the discharging plate, and then discharged to the belt conveyor in the yard through the hopper below the center of the machine. Through the operation of the whole machine and the rotation and luffing of the boom, the bucket wheel can reclaim all the bulk materials in the stockpile.

Main Components

Boom bucket wheel stacker reclaimer is mainly composed of boom & upper structure, tripper car, boom conveyor, long travel mechanism, bucket wheel mechanism, slewing mechanism, etc.

The boom is an extendable arm that carries the material-handling equipment. It can be raised, lowered, and maneuvered to precisely stack materials in desired configurations.

Bucket wheel is the most important mechanism for reclaiming bulk material.

The superstructure is the upper part of the stacker, housing crucial components such as the boom, control systems, and other operational elements.

The luffing system allows the boom to move vertically, enabling the stacker to adjust the height of the material being deposited. This is especially important for creating stockpiles of varying heights.

The slewing mechanism allows the boom to rotate horizontally, enabling the stacker to cover a larger area and stack materials in different stockpile configurations.

Long travel bogies are the undercarriage or wheel systems that allow the stacker to move along rails or tracks within the stockyard. These provide the necessary mobility for the stacker.

In some stacker configurations, a tripper car is employed to distribute material along the length of a conveyor, allowing for precise and controlled stacking.

The substructure is the structural support beneath the superstructure, including the slew deck, portal, slew bearing and balance beam. It transfers loads from the superstructure to the travel system efficiently.

The E-house is a containerized housing that accommodates the electrical components and control systems of the stacker. It provides a controlled environment for electrical equipment. Stackers are equipped with sophisticated control systems, which can be either semi-automatic or fully automatic. These systems enable precise control over the stacking process, contributing to efficiency and accuracy.
